The Glen Garioch (pronounced "Glen Geery") distillery was officially founded in 1797 and this date is imprinted on every bottle. In 1837 after changing hands several times over the years, the distillery was finally returned to the Manson family. Just 17 miles from Aberdeen in the very north-eastern tip of Scotland, Glen Garioch is the most easterly Scotch Whisky distillery not just in Scotland but the world. The perfect accompaniment to Parmigiano-Reggiano, the 12 Years Old binds the dryness of the cheese, which in return provides a platform for the malt’s sweet fruitiness and enhances its clean barley notes.
